Step Inside Werribee Holiday Inn by Studio Tate

Nestled in the heart of Werribee, the newly designed Holiday Inn from Studio Tate is a vibrant and dynamic holiday destination.

With an open-plan lobby and flexible leisure spaces, the modern 150-room hotel intuitively encourages interaction, liveliness, and sociability amongst its guests.

To align with this innovative and transgressive interior concept, Studio Tate used bold hues, intriguing textures, and striking geometries to create a unique, memorable space and reimagine the traditional hotel experience.

“Creating a sense of place was a key part of the hotel design. We developed an aesthetic outcome to reflect the personality of Melbourne – vibrant and playful, yet sophisticated,” says Alex Hopkins, Studio Tate Director.

“We were also influenced by the Memphis Design Movement. During this era, designers didn’t take themselves too seriously, they experimented with products and design geometries to create fun-filled, bold interiors.”

Textiles by Kvadrat Maharam accent the hotel’s bedrooms, lobby, and bar, chosen for their eye-catching colours, intricate patterns, and quality fabrication. Each piece adds wonder and surprise, threading an element of vivacity throughout the hotel.

In the guest rooms, Maharam’s Tabby Check in Pacific upholsters the bedheads.

Offsetting the room’s soft, muted tonal palette with its bright green-and-blue checked fabric, Tabby Check is a charming addition to enliven the luxurious bedrooms and instantly draw the eye.

In the lobby, Mode by Maharam upholsters loose furniture in various pastels, adding an engaging flair of colour against the backdrop of Melbourne’s city skyline.

Behind reception, Maharam’s Aria in Fathom materialises in the form of a dramatic, forest-green feature curtain, complementing the natural stone of the nearby concierge points and the subtle green accents that appear throughout the rest of the hotel.

Noon by Kvadrat is draped across the windows of the hotel bar in a sheer, cascading curtain. Its soft lustrous material infuses the room with the elegance and refinement of an inner-city venue. And with subtle stripes woven in the direction of the weft and small irregularities in the yarn, Noon possesses a natural look that captures the unique character of the Holiday Inn.
